The guys over at wlmtips.com require some praise and approval for their efforts on their website. It is only young (much like The Tech Juice) but it manages to have substantial content available for a blog that is such a young age. I encourage everyone to go check it out if they like the content here at The Tech Juice.

The most useful post (that I have come across, anyway) is regarding using Internet Explorer on Linux. Being a web developer often requires testing of your web applications, web sites, etc., on various platforms. It is important that you are able to view the page in as many different ways as possible, to ensure the highest level of compatibility among users.

Using Internet Explorer in Linux allows me to accomplish this task. These guys have put together a great article, and they are worthy of some praise in their efforts to create a website with original content, good layout, and convincing technical knowledge.

I have included a link to wlmtips in my sidebar, and I encourage all of my readers to check them out. I'm sure if you find anything I write useful, you will definitely find information to your liking on this site.

Stumble Upon Toolbar

You may have noticed recently at The Tech Juice that my posts have tended to be Mac-centric. This will probably be the case for the majority of the summer, as I am trying out a new set up that allows me to run my Macbook with an external display, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc. It is no new feat to be able to do this, but I thought that it might be a nice experiment to see how I function outside of my primarily Windows / Linux world.

This is not to say I did not really use my Macbook before, rather, I am trying to use ONLY my Macbook.

So far, my biggest pain has been the fact that I purchased the lower end Macbook for several reasons, and it does not come with an internal DVD writer. I have had to ask my suspiciously gorgeous fiancé to perform these tasks for me, so I could keep clean from my PC addiction.

Having said that, my Windows and Linux detox has been going very smooth. I still use Windows XP at work – but for any kind of computer usage beyond my day to day at work, the Macbook is my only friend.

Expect more updates, and a lot more information from the Mac perspective in the coming months. Don’t worry though, XP won’t be left in the dust, but Linux might have to wait awhile before I give her a call.

New Design

Posted In: . By Sean

I am working on a new design for the web site. Initially I had switched to a different theme that was hosted by another person, and for some reason the bandwidth became limited. This time I will create my own and see how it goes.

If you have any resources to help me, please let me know.

I'm working hard on getting The Tech Juice layout working properly, it's a lot of work making sure its working properly in all browsers, so if you happen to come across a dead link, it's just temporary until I figure everything out. I'm hoping to have everything working 100% sometime this week, it's nearing Thanksgiving however, so I will be very busy with that.

If you notice something not working properly, please give us a shout at contact@thetechjuice.com and we'll fix it asap.

Thanks,

-Scott
